About

BARBARA ALEXANDRE has brought her wealth of experience as a trilingual multi-talented actor to Feature Films, TV Series and Stage productions (X-MEN III, CATWOMAN, GOTHIKA, CAIRO CALLING, WATATATOW, LES MISERABLES & SPIRIT OF NATION). She was also honoured with the award of Excellency at the “Jeunes Femmes Méritas” & “MISS PERSONNALITÉ” (Gala Révélation) competition in Quebec.

Among thousands of young artists who auditioned for the Canadian 1996 “SPIRIT OF NATION” show, Barbara’s acting, singing and dancing talents shined as she was one of the few chosen to join the tour that attracted thousands of viewers daily.

Barbara received big news during her tour; she had been cast for her first principal role of Barbara Dorcellus, written especially for her, on the popular French-Canadian television show called “WATATATOW” CBC (over one million dedicated daily viewers).

2001 brought Barbara back on the dance floor with the group “LES FLIRTS”, where they captivated audiences of over half a million viewers weekly on the television show “MAX LOUNGE” broadcasted by MUSIMAX/MUSIQUEPLUS. The first advertised birth control pill “ALESSE” cast Barbara to represent them throughout various media such as print, billboard and television commercials airing from coast to coast across Canada.

2003 came like a brick and her name was “HALLE BERRY”. Barbara was given a chance of a lifetime, to be Halle’s stand-in on the movie GOTHIKA directed by Mathieu Kassovitz. Mentor Halle Berry invited Barbara to join the CATWOMAN crew, a feature film directed by Pitof as well as X-MEN III The Last Stand in 2005 directed by Brett Ratner

2004-05 opened a new page in Barbara’s life and brought an abundance of change as she moved to Vancouver to pursue her dream. She got to explore her comedic personality when cast for the principal role of “LAYLA” in the “AUDIENCE AWARD” winning film CAIRO CALLING for CBC, produced by Joseph Antaki of BMP Inc. The film was well accepted around the world.

Barbara is persistent and has a laser-focused vision; she keeps pressing on with an insatiable appetite to learn. In 2006 she produced her first PSA “YOUR LIFE IS IN YOUR HANDS” for the Covenant House. She did also finish the writing of her short script “Close Enemies”.

In 2008, you will be able to see Barbara burn the stage as an author-singer of her songs at the prestigious provincial french singing contest “PACIFIQUE EN CHANSON”. Barbara is further developing her artistic side by attending GASTOWN’S LYRIC SCHOOL OF ACTING in Vancouver and IVANA CHUBBUCK STUDIOS in Los Angeles. Barbara feels much closer to her goal in life “To inspire people and be remembered as someone who brought joy, love and hope to the world”. Keep you eyes open… Barbara may soon be on your screen.
